Cucuteni Festival 2016, organized in the last day of the Cucuteni International Art Camp 2016, will open its doors on Saturday July 16, 2016.
In the heart of the woods, the atmosphere of Cucuteni-Trypillia civilization will revive under the rhythms of archaic instruments, through more than 70 works made at the art camp by 25 ceramists and painters from ten countries.
Organized in a rustic atmosphere rebuilt after the Cucutenian model, the festival will harmoniously combine an impressive show of authentic art motifs, symbols and rituals of ancient Cucutenian art which will be reproduced in front of the Festival’s audience. Professionals from Poland, Lithuania, Egipt, Kazakhstan, Bulgaria, Romania, Azerbaijan, Russia, Ukraine and Moldova will organize master-classes for the visitors where they will learn step by step the mysterious traditional decoration of Cucutenian art.
Apart from creative workshops which are a true card of the festival, the event will also include complementary activities such as: workshops for interested persons to handle drums, bongo, conga and djembe, supported by the artist from Art-Labyrinth, Mehendi (cucutenian figures with henna), charcoal painting and body-art in Cucutenian style workshops.
All visitations will taste food and drinks prepared after the oldest recipes and participate in master-classes dedicated to the art of Cucuteni-Trypillia and children will participate in real archaeological digs.
A fire show, music of ancient instruments, art sale and the revival of ancient rituals waits for you at Cucuteni Festival 2016. The evening will culminate with igniting a ceramic sculpture representing the goddess of creation of Cucuteni-Trypillian civilization.
